Kotak Mahindra Bank EDF form for services: free form and how Kotak takes it

The Kotak Mahindra Bank EDF format
- Kotak's "Trade Policy cum SOPs Framework on Exports" (29 September 2026) asks for the EDF but we found no separate Kotak layout, so use the RBI form.
- The free generator prints it filled in.
Category of exporter: The RBI form's "others" works for service exporters; ask Kotak if unsure.
How to submit it to Kotak Mahindra Bank
- Through fyn, Kotak's corporate digital platform, or a Kotak Trade Branch. Scanned and electronic records are accepted.
- Kotak doesn't say whether savings-account (including Kotak811) customers can use fyn; go through a Trade Branch and ask.
- Turnaround for service exports is two working days (T+2).
- Due within 30 days after the end of the month in which you invoiced: October 2026 invoices by 30 Nov 2026. One EDF covers all of a month's invoices. Work out your due date.
What to attach
- A request letter with the FEMA declaration.
- The EDF.
- Your invoices.
Charges
From 12 October 2026, Kotak's schedule has "Software and Service Handling" at 0.075% (minimum ₹1,500 per bill), FIRA ₹250, purpose-code change ₹1,000, inward remittance free; GST extra. Whether the handling charge applies per monthly EDF isn't stated.
Individuals: you may not need to file
The regulations have no exemption for individuals. But on 7 October 2026 RBI's Governor said individuals don't have to report transactions of a personal nature, whatever the amount, and gave tutoring and small software work for clients abroad as examples; a Deputy Governor said individuals aren't included for contracts of a personal nature. RBI has promised an FAQ, which isn't out yet.
Until the FAQ is out, companies, LLPs and firms file; if you invoice in your own name, ask Kotak Mahindra Bank whether it wants an EDF from you. Who files.
