Canara Bank EDF form for services: free form and what Canara asks for
Canara Bank hasn't published an EDF format or an export policy under the 2026 rules yet; use the RBI form, which the free generator prints. Canara's cross-border framework does have one rule every exporter should know: reply to its disposal-instruction request within 7 business days.

The Canara Bank EDF format
- Canara's "Framework for Cross-Border Transactions" (17 September 2026) covers remittances but not the services EDF, and we found no Canara export policy under the 2026 regulations. Use the RBI form.
- The free generator prints it filled in. Ask your branch whether Canara wants a covering request letter.
Category of exporter: The RBI form's "others" works for service exporters; ask Canara if unsure.
How to submit it to Canara Bank
- At your branch, which forwards it to Canara's Global Trade Processing Centre (GTPC).
- Canara's digital channel Fx4U handles outward remittances only, so the EDF goes through the branch.
- Due within 30 days after the end of the month in which you invoiced: October 2026 invoices by 30 Nov 2026. One EDF covers all of a month's invoices. Work out your due date.
What to attach
- The EDF and your invoices, with the SAC code.
- For each inward payment: a customer request with FEMA declarations and a disposal instruction (Canara's framework). Canara sets the purpose code from the payment message and your documents, so tell it the payment is for an export of services.
- Reply quickly: if you don't respond to the disposal-instruction request within 7 business days, Canara may return the money to the sender.
- For an advance from a client: the export contract, agreement, purchase order or proforma invoice.
Charges
Canara's forex charges (from 2 February 2026) list FIRC or e-FIRC at ₹500 and export bill charges from ₹100 to ₹1,000 by slab; GST extra. Ask your branch about EDF charges.
Individuals: you may not need to file
The regulations have no exemption for individuals. But on 7 October 2026 RBI's Governor said individuals don't have to report transactions of a personal nature, whatever the amount, and gave tutoring and small software work for clients abroad as examples; a Deputy Governor said individuals aren't included for contracts of a personal nature. RBI has promised an FAQ, which isn't out yet.
Until the FAQ is out, companies, LLPs and firms file; if you invoice in your own name, ask Canara Bank whether it wants an EDF from you. Who files.
