- Customer request letter with FEMA declaration (Annexure 1, has 'IEC/IEPAN Code' field) verified
- Copy of service/software invoice or PO verified
- Underlying contract or service agreement (for lodgement and EDPMS reporting) verified
- Request letter giving the reason, if EDF is submitted late verified
- At realisation: invoice and service agreement/PO verified
- Disposal instruction for inward remittance (Annexure 14) verified
- IEC needed?
- No, PAN is accepted
- Timing
- Single consolidated EDF within 30 days from the end of the month. For non-software services, on or before the date payment is received. Axis may allow an additional 30-day grace period on a request letter giving a bona fide reason. EDPMS updated within 5 working days. Funds credited same day, with EDPMS updated simultaneously. Retail inward remittance TAT 1 day.
- Charges
- Schedule of Charges for Trade and Forex (w.e.f. 10 Jul 2026) has no line item for a services EDF. Relevant items: inward foreign currency remittance incl. export advance Rs 300; EDF (GR) approvals Rs 1,000/bill; eBRC/manual BRC NIL; change of purpose code Rs 1,000/remittance; duplicate advice/FIRC/BRC Rs 100; other certificate Rs 250; extension of realisation due date Rs 500/bill; handling export bill against advance Rs 1,250/bill. GST extra on all. Retail/Burgundy pricing may differ.
- FIRA / FIRC
- e-FIRC issued on request (Annexure 4 'FIRC Issuance request', mainly for an advance whose shipping documents go through another AD). For ≤ INR 10 lakh closures via card/PA/marketplace receipts, 'e-FIRC number must be available in EDPMS'. FIRC fee not verified for retail.
- Declaring the purpose code
- Disposal instruction (Annexure 14) or a one-time Standing Instruction. Documents are required above the bank's thresholds. Retail netbanking module name not verified.
Recommendations
- Use Axis Annexure 6 for the EDF (easylancing can map its fields onto Annexure 6 section 2B for multiple recipients). Sign it and email or hand over a scanned copy with an Annexure 1 request letter. Enter PAN in the 'IEC/IEPAN' field if you have no IEC.
- Ex-Citibank India retail accounts were migrated to Axis Bank on 15 July (2024 per Axis migration pages). Axis is now your AD bank: inward wires go to Axis SWIFT AXISINBB (per Axis Citi-migration FAQ, REPORTED), and the EDF follows the Axis AEXIM process. Ask your (ex-Citi) Burgundy/RM where to send the EDF.
- If you miss the 30-day window, send a delay request letter at once. Axis says it may allow an extra 30 days for bona fide reasons.
- Avoid purpose-code corrections after credit: Axis charges Rs 1,000 + GST per remittance for a change of purpose code.
- For INR credits from a PA-CB (Wise Business, Skydo, Razorpay MoneySaver, Xflow, BriskPe, etc.) keep the provider's FIRA/e-FIRC and attach it with the invoice when the bank asks for realisation evidence.
- For invoices up to INR 10 lakh, the EDPMS entry can be closed on your declaration (quarterly bulk declaration allowed). Ask the bank for its declaration format.
