How to file with Central Bank of India
We haven't confirmed this bank's EDF procedure yet.
- IEC needed?
- Not confirmed. Ask your bank
- Charges
- Forex schedule (01.08.2021): 'EDF approval' and EDF waiver certificate items; no services-EDF line.
- FIRA / FIRC
- e-FIRC issuance INR 500 flat; FIRC on security paper/letterhead INR 250. Inward remittance commission INR 100 (up to INR 10 lakh) / INR 250 (above). Inward credited to EEFC: INR 500 (01.08.2021 schedule).
- Declaring the purpose code
- Not found. The bank publishes a SWIFT inward message format: funds route via its Overseas Branch (SWIFT CBININBBOSB) for further credit to the 10-digit account.
Recommendations
- Give foreign clients the bank's published inward SWIFT format (via Overseas Branch, CBININBBOSB) so the credit reaches your account with full details.
- Ask your home branch whether it is an AD (forex) branch; if not, ask which mapped AD/forex branch handles your EDF and inward remittances, and get the email address in writing.
- File one consolidated EDF per month (Annex form of FEMA 23(R)/2026-RB) with an invoice-wise annexure, within 30 days after the invoice month; keep the bank's acknowledgement/EDF number.
- For PA/platform payouts that arrive as domestic INR credits (Wise/Skydo/Razorpay/Payoneer/PayPal), keep the provider's FIRA/e-FIRC and ask the bank how it wants them mapped to the EDF; no bank in this group publishes a rule for this.
- Ask your branch or relationship manager how it wants the monthly EDF for services. Most banks take it at the branch or through the relationship manager; business customers may be able to use a trade portal.
- Ask whether it accepts PAN when you don't have an IEC.
- Take the printed EDF, the covering letter, copies of the invoices and any FIRA / e-FIRC.
- Your bank must publish its export policy on its website (Reg. 19). Look for "export" or "FEMA" policy documents there.
